Andrew Ashton (Aa) is driven by a love for design that inspires and engages. Aa’s career includes creating Australia’s first design-focused market, Ready Made Market, launched at the inaugural Victorian State of Design Festival in 2003.

Aa is a Naarm-based graphic designer, writer, and visual artist with over 30 years of experience creating work that connects imagination with everyday life. From collaborating with Monash University and Dame Elisabeth Murdoch to Circus Oz, Aa’s projects span the corporate, government, and cultural sectors.
A member of the prestigious Alliance Graphique Internationale, Aa balances professional practice with fostering creativity. He has lectured at Swinburne University and Monash University, chaired the 2012 AGDA National Awards, and co-founded Melbourne’s 2013 Nite Art project. Currently pursuing a PhD, Aa explores the evolution of Australian graphic design through local culture, environment, and storytelling.
